Here, the Vice President knows your name when you walk in and our president, Ken Monroe sends out handwritten birthday cards! They treat their employees well and they really try to take care of their customers. They strive to help technicians stay up to date on all of the equipment they sell, and that commitment rolls back to the customer.

I’ve worked here for ten years, two of which were before my kids were born. I’ve grown up within the company and they’ve supported me every step along the way, from beginning as a receptionist to moving to a sales coordinator position and eventually into sales. The biggest difference working for Holt is we’re definitely a close-knit family team. We have open communication and Holt doesn’t hold us back in making sure customers succeed. Working for Holt is an adventure. Every day is different and I like the challenge. Sometimes you see things you’ve never seen before, like the time a customer came in needing parts for his 1930s Allis-Chalmers tractor. I was able to learn something new about an older tractor all while helping the customer get what he needed.

I was in the automotive field for over 22 years and a partner in three different shops, but I decided I wanted to venture out a little, so I sold my partnerships and applied with Holt. One of my technicians had come to work here and he put in a referral for me. The foremost thing is, it’s like a family here. The executive team is very hands-on, which is new to me. And they’re concerned about safety – they want you to go home in one piece every day. I would definitely encourage people to come to work here. They hire based on what they promise to deliver. If you earn your position, they will deliver for you.

In my job, you find the part, you get it to the customer and get them up and going. It’s something I really love to do. I enjoy the interaction with the customer, knowing that what I did helped him achieve his goal. I encourage people I know to come to work here. In this area, I think Holt is the top company to work for. They’re really good about taking care of you. And you can grow here. My goal is to eventually be a parts supervisor or a manager.
